1 :: When did you start at CrossFit Matters and how did you learn about CrossFit? – I started CrossFit a little over two years ago. I used to make fun of Coach Dustin when we taught together because he would never participate in our food days and always had to go to the gym… And then I came to CrossFit Matters!

2 :: What is your CrossFit theme song? – Dave Matthews Band, definitely DMB, or maybe Blink 182, whatever Coach Rob plays.

3 :: What are the rewards/benefits of CrossFit training for you? – CrossFit makes me feel strong physically, mentally and even emotionally. It’s given me so many opportunities to conquer fears and see how much control I have over my own body. It’s also an outlet for my competitive spirit!

4 :: What is your favorite movement/WOD and what challenges you? – Snatch!!! Nothing feels better than catching it in the right spot and being able to finish the movement. Overhead squat!! Surprisingly these two movements are my stronger suits. I don’t like KB swings because they hurt my hands and Jim always yells at me for not staying in my heels.

5 :: How and why does CrossFit matter in your life? – CF is a huge stress reliever and has brought a ton of great people into my life. It’s never boring which always keeps me coming back for more. I also like that CrossFit can be a great conversation starter with people about healthy lifestyles and practices.

6 :: What is your guilty non-CrossFit pleasure? – I love ice cream and Jim can definitely tell you I like to have a drink every now and now.

7 :: What are you looking forward to achieving in 2016? – I’d really like to see my squat numbers improve… It’s time for me to reach the 200 club (back squat). I’d like to see my cleans improve as well. And just dreaming but muscle ups would be awesome sooner or later!

8 :: What is something you would encourage someone considering CrossFit? – Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Just try new things and push yourself a little harder than you thought you could each time you come in.

9 :: What is something others may not know about you? – I went to Africa when I was 17 and it was the best two weeks of my life. I wanted to move there and do mission work. I’d recommend visiting a third-world country to anyone. It was life changing.

10 :: What is your most memorable CrossFit experience? – Any comps with mah frands! Competing has been so much fun to not only test my limits but bond with whomever is willing to compete with me!
